Re: buying a house

It's quite nice on the west side of Park Road. They are all small 3-bedroom semi's built in the late 50's and 60's as housing for a Rolls Royce factory that was never built. All privately owned, no ex-council. (East side of park road is cheaper as it has ex-council properties)

The prices are dirt cheap compared to other areas of Dicot. The houses are "less desirable" as the modern Ladygrove houses, and are outside walking distance to the station. But they all have real walls, non of this stud nonsense.

The prices are all in the sub 3% stamp duty bracket, so expect to pay about £249,950 for a good example. While all the same format, lots have had large extensions built on the back so look out to see you are getting value for money.

The value of the houses can only increase after the new estate is built and the average price in the area goes up.

Take note of the 93(?) bus route. Being close to a pickup point can make it easier to get into Didcot and the station without walking.
